SST Burlington Guidelines post Covid-19 lockdown restrictions
SST Burlington will follow the guidelines and advice provided by the government of Ontario and the city of Burlington. We will be assessing operations and schedules on a month-to-month basis as the pandemic continues to unfold.
We are currently preparing for the re-opening of our new gym facility in the safest possible manner. The safety of our staff and members is of the highest priority to ensure a safe training environment for all.
The following orders will be in place until further notice:
Any person who enters or uses the facility maintains a physical distance of at least two meters from any other person who is using the facility.
Team training (six persons or more) will not be practiced or played within the facility.
Change rooms and showers in the facility remain closed, except to the extent they provide access to a washroom or a portion of the facility.
The only persons permitted to use the facility are athletes and adults (under the supervision of a Coach), who are members of SST Burlington.
No spectators are permitted at the facility, other than up to one accompanying parent guardian or other adult for each athlete under the age of 18.
We strongly advise adherence to the precautions recommended by the WHO and CDC to prevent respiratory illness, including:
Regular hand washing with soap (for at least 20 seconds) or alcohol-based solution (at least 60 percent alcohol).
Covering coughing or sneezing with a tissue or elbow (not your hand).
Avoiding touching of eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
Limiting contact with people who are sick and staying home if you are sick.
The CDC also recommends cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects.

The following measures will be in place at our facility when we re-open for training:
Signage will be posted in the facility with our Covid-19 guidelines.
We will recommend that any members stay home when feeling sick very if they think they are only mildly ill and might otherwise decide to power through a workout.
A strict rotational cleaning protocol will be in place and members access to zones being cleaned will be restricted.
Lysol wipes will be placed around the gym for members to use before and after the use of equipment.
We will encourage members to wash hands during rest periods.
Cleaning of shared workstations such as the reception desk and seating area as well as doorhandles for our own protection. (surfaces, keyboard, mouse etc.)
Pleasedo not hesitate to communicate with our team as and when you require additional information. Our goal is provide a safe training environment for all.
You can do this directly at the facility, via email - Brittany Skinner
, or by phone.
While some people may be (understandably) nervous, health authorities recommend people continue normal preventive measures
, which include staying current on vaccines
, be sure to continue follow a healthful diet
, and exercising regularly
. Unless social distancing measures (those that require avoiding crowded places, such as school closures or restrictions on public gatherings) are implemented, getting in a workout is healthy and safe. Fortunately for us, there is no medical or scientific evidence to suggest that the coronavirus is transmissible via sweat.
We are so excited to have our SST family back at the gym and enjoying our fantastic new facility.
